CFHTLS XMM Oct07a
From NYU CCPP Wiki
This is a page about the PRIMUS project.
The CFHT Legacy Survey and SWIRE observations for October 2007 targets galaxies detected the optical/IR imaging. These masks cover the XMM field near RA=3hr.
Because of memory and CPU time issues, we built these masks piecemeal, using the maskstart and maskend options in primus_maskgen_repeat. (The old version, "oct07", was the attempt to do it all at once).
Daniel worked out how to select galaxies appropriately from this catalog, using his SWIRE target prescription (which I hope to have copied correctly). These are implemented slightly differently than in the previous SWIRE cases, because the stellar locus is a bit different in CFHT, and the star-galaxy separation is different. All targets used below pass the "basic cuts" and aren't a saturated star. The priorities are:
- CFHT_CALIB (108): F stars (from the optical imaging)
- CFHT_BRIGHT, CFHT_FAINT (208): Density-dependent sparse-sampled primary objects. Bright set is everything with iAB < 22.5 that is a galaxy or is point source which is possibly a QSO. Faint set is 22.5 < iAB < 23, sampled at 30%, or 22.5 < iAB < 23.5 if there are Spitzer detections.
- CFHT_FILL (308): All sources not in primary sample with iAB < 23.5.
