SDSS 21hr May06
From NYU CCPP Wiki
This is a page about the PRIMUS project.
The SDSS observations for May 2006 are basically meant to fill a hole in the nights at LST of about 19hr. They will provide redshifts down to about r of 22, so will be good for photometric redshift calibration. Ideally, we would have liked to target off of coadded catalogs, but time constraints prevented us from doing so.
The priorities are:
- SDSS_CALIB (104): SDSS F stars (~ 80)
- SDSS_AGN (204): Richards et al (2004) photometric QSOs with g < 21 (and i > 19) from their DR3 catalog) (~ 10)
- SDSS_FAINT_STAR, SDSS_GALAXY (304): Sparse-sampled (as 0.7 / N for N > 1) galaxies and 50% of the faint (r > 21) stars from SDSS (~ 1500)
- SDSS_FILL (404): Remainder of the set of SDSS faint stars and galaxies
There are typically 2200 targets per mask total.
