XMM SWIRE Oct06
From NYU CCPP Wiki
This is a page about the PRIMUS project.
The XMM SWIRE observations for October 2006 targets galaxies and QSOs detected the optical/IR imaging.
Daniel worked out how to select galaxies appropriately from this catalog, using his SWIRE target prescription (which I hope to have copied correctly). All targets used below pass the "basic cuts" and aren't a bright star. The optical data from Subaru is already on the AB system, so no AB corrections are applied to the data.
During the November 2006 observing run, it was discovered that these masks had the incorrect slit spacing provided though the target selection was not affected. The XMM SWIRE Oct 06 masks have now been replaced with the corrected XMM SWIRE Dec 06 Masks.
There are some notable differences between this field
and the CDFS field:
- There is only one external catalog guaranteed at the faint end (X-Ray sources)
- When excluding bright stars, QSOs are checked for with only the IR cuts and a single optical cut instead of the two optical cuts used in CDFS.
The priorities are:
- SWIRE_CALIB (107): F stars (from the optical imaging)
- SWIRE_BRIGHT, SWIRE_FAINT (207): Density-dependent sparse-sampled primary objects. Bright set is everything with i < 22.5. Faint set is 22.5 < R < 23.5, where IR sources and external sources are guaranteed. Other faint galaxies (with i < 23) are sparse sampled at 30% if collided, 100% if not.
- SWIRE_FILL (307): All sources not in primary sample with i < 23.
